Structural inspection of two Wang Fuk Court blocks completed

The Housing Bureau’s Independent Review Team has completed inspections of Wang Yan House and Wang Tao House (entire buildings) at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po. The overall building structure poses no immediate danger, though a small number of units require temporary structural reinforcement.  

The review team, together with professional staff from the Housing Department, conducted a preliminary visual inspection and found that a small number of units in Wang Yan House and Wang Tao House have comparatively more severe structural damage and require temporary reinforcement works. An emergency repair contractor has been mobilized to arrange the relevant reinforcement work. They also inspected the overall structural safety condition of the first two floors of Wang Cheong House.  

In addition, starting yesterday, the Labour Department launched a territory-wide special enforcement operation to inspect fire protection facilities and fire emergency response arrangements at building repair worksites with large scaffolding. So far, 46 sites have been inspected, with 39 written warnings and two improvement notices issued.
