Many volunteers have been helping the victims after the deadly fire in Tai Po. One group focuses on foreign domestic helpers.

Among dozens of booths that offer free food and essential items to fire victims at this patio near Wang Fuk Court, this area is dedicated to foreign domestic helpers.

The organiser said the priority is to "reach out" to affected migrant helpers.

"To let the foreign domestic helpers know we are here," said Edwina. "For example, some said that they lost their passports; some left their passports. So, to be able to request the consulates to waive the fee, because it's not their fault that they have lost their passports.
"If they need counselling, we also have counselling professionals who can do that. But the thing we want to do now is actually to reach out first."

Janette rushed to help after reading about the volunteering on social media.

"I live in Olympic," she said. "But before I came here, I just asked my boss first. He said, 'Okay, sure, you go, but be safe.' They are also victims, so they also need help from the government here. Not because we are only helpers or workers here."

The Consulate General of Indonesia sad on Thursday that two Indonesians died in the fire, and two were injured.

While the Philippine Consulate General has not confirmed any fatalities among its nationals, one Filipino domestic helper was reportedly injured and some were missing.

A Mei Foo resident came to Tai Po to help search for missing individuals.

"I am a retired (person) and I have got a lot of time, so I decided to come here," said Ben. "I feel excited. At first, really didn't know many people would come here."
