Sources say the man also allegedly hired an acquitted bomb plot suspect to work at a pancake shop by offering a salary of 100,000 dollars. The arrested man was said to be the shop's owner. The affected pancake shop in Kwai Chung Plaza did not open for business on Tuesday. This picture shows the moment police arrived at the shop to investigate. The National Security Department of the Hong Kong Police said the 32-year-old man and 27-year-old woman were arrested in Kwai Chung on Monday. According to the police, the man is suspected to have repeatedly published posts with seditious intention on the pancake shop's social media account between October 2020 and October 2025. During that same period, sources say the man allegedly hired an employee to act as the shop's manager for a day by paying him 100,000 dollars. The police named the suspected employee as Ng Tsz-lok, an acquitted suspect in the 2020 bomb plot case. Authorities suspect the "one-day manager" could allegedly have been a disguise for the alleged funding of activities to endanger national security. The duo was also arrested on suspicion of possessing dangerous drugs after suspected cannabis was found in their unit. Meanwhile, another dessert shop owner in Kowloon City was alleged to have been involved in the case and has been taken away for investigation.
