Premier Li Qiang urged the Group of 20 (G20) economies to stay committed to solidarity, firmly uphold free trade and build an open world economy in the face of a sluggish global economic recovery. Li made the remarks while addressing the first session of the G20 Summit in Johannesburg. He also spoke in the second and third sessions, and said that multiple challenges such as climate change, energy and food crises are overlapping and the international community needs to unite to solve problems. First he called on all parties to strengthen ecology and environmental protection cooperation. Second, he urged efforts to enhance cooperation on green energy, including facilitating the free flow and application of related technology. Li also called for parties to work together on food security to ensure stable supply.
