Brazil's Supreme Court orders preemptive arrest of former President Jair Bolsonaro

Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has been arrested Saturday morning under an order issued by the supreme court, following an escape attempt.
The far-right ex-president was placed in preventive custody at the Federal Police headquarters.
The arrest, ordered on grounds of safeguarding public order, comes amid investigations into his alleged coup plot in the country.
The 70-year-old was sentenced to more than 27 years in prison in September as judges found him guilty of attempting to overthrow Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva after his election defeat.
