Premier Li Qiang has addressed the 20th G20 Summit chaired by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, appealing for broader global cooperation to jointly cope with challenges.

He highlighted the importance of free trade in the face of a sluggish global economic recovery and said the group should take the lead in upholding multilateralism.

Li prompted all parties to bolster ecology and environmental protection cooperation, enhance food security, while keeping industrial and supply chains stable and unimpeded.

He urged G20 economies to buoy the widespread and effective governance of AI and promote the orderly development of the technology that is beneficial and fair.

The premier also stressed China's endeavour to promote common development by supporting Africa and the industrialisation of least developed countries.
