Crowds of supporters attended a campaign event for Honduran presidential candidate Rixi Moncada in San Pefro Sula.
Moncada, the country's former defence secretary, is the candidate for the ruling Liberty and Refoundation Party, or Libre.
Hundreds of people waved red flags and cheered as Moncada addressed supporters from a stage.
The other two frontrunners in the presidential race are Nasry Asfura of the National Party, and Salvador Nasralla of the Liberal Party.
