As a strong northeasterly monsoon is affecting the coast of Guangdong, Hong Kong experienced a significant drop in temperature this morning. The Observatory recorded a low of 13.2 degrees Celsius, the lowest since the beginning of autumn, prompting many residents to wear warm clothes. This morning, temperatures at most areas in Hong Kong were around 15 degrees Celsius, with Tsuen Wan reaching 10 degrees Celsius. Kowloon City, Kwun Tong, and Yuen Long saw lows of around 11 degrees Celsius. Tai Mo Shan recorded a low of only 3.2 degrees Celsius. The band of clouds covering the coast of Guangdong will thin out in the next couple of days. The northeast monsoon will moderate slightly, the weather will improve gradually with temperatures rising progressively over the region. However, it will remain cool in the morning. Under the persistent influence of the dry northeast monsoon replenishment, the weather will be generally fine over southern China from the weekend to midweek next week. The temperature difference between day and night will be rather large.
