The city's unemployment rate has fallen to 3.8 percent, with jobless rate in the retail sector clearly decreasing.
The Census and Statistics Department said unemployment rate decreased from 3.9 percent in the July-to-September period to 3.8 percent in August-to-October period.
During the latest three-month period, the unemployment rate improved in sectors such as retail, accommodation and food services; foundation and superstructure sector; and financing.
Secretary for Labour and Welfare Chris Sun, said the solid expansion of the Hong Kong economy, along with the improvement in business sentiment and the gradual recovery in consumption confidence should provide support to the labour market.
