The Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM) will launch its largest-ever special exhibition, "The Civilisation of Ancient Egypt: Treasures from the Museum of Egyptian Civilization," from 20 November 2025. Featuring 250 precious artifacts on loan from Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities, the exhibition will be accompanied by over 140 creatively designed cultural products inspired by ancient Egyptian history and culture. Two new limited-time pop-up stores will also open to celebrate the exhibition.

The new product line includes plush keychains, tote bags, stationery, and daily essentials, all incorporating ancient Egyptian motifs with contemporary design. Highlights include the museum’s first-ever "Ancient Egypt Mystery Blind Box," containing one of six random plush keychains featuring designs such as mummies and pharaohs. In collaboration with lifestyle brand Rituals, a home fragrance series has also been launched to evoke the atmosphere of ancient Egyptian temples.

From 20 November, the two pop-ups—located outside the Palace Academy on the lower ground floor and near Exhibition Hall 9 on the fourth floor—will join the museum’s ART EXPRESS gift shop in offering the new product collections.

A range of public programs will be held alongside the exhibition, including lectures, workshops, and guided tours. Family-friendly workshops such as "Little Pharaoh Parent-Child Workshop," "Pyramid Explorer Workshop," and "Cat Shrine Creation Workshop" will offer interactive ways to explore ancient Egyptian culture.

Visitors can enjoy special opening offers, including a combo ticket for the mystery blind box and a standard adult admission pass. Those who register as new "Friends of the Hong Kong Palace Museum" members or renew their membership by 30 November will receive an exclusive plush keychain (not for sale).

"The Civilisation of Ancient Egypt" will run from 20 November 2025 to 31 August 2026.
