The National Meteorological Center has issued a blue cold wave warning, forecasting strong winds and a significant temperature drop across central and eastern China. The cooling trend is expected to continue until Tuesday, November 18, with average daily or minimum temperatures projected to decrease by 6 to 10 degree Celsius in most affected areas.

Regions including southern Shaanxi, northern Chongqing, western Henan, and northern Hubei will experience more drastic drops of 12 to 14 degree Celsius, with some localities seeing declines exceeding 14 degree Celsius. Around November 18, the 0 degree Celsius minimum temperature line is expected to shift southward to areas from southern Jiangsu and Anhui to northern Hubei.

Sunday marked the most extensive and severe temperature drop for northern China, with maximum temperatures in most northern areas falling to single digits. Cities such as Hohhot, Beijing, Lanzhou, Yinchuan, and Xining experienced their coldest days since the beginning of the second half of the year.

On Monday, November 17, the cold wave advanced further south, reaching southern China. Provinces including Henan, Shandong, Jiangsu, Anhui, and Hunan saw temperature reductions of 6 to 12 degree Celsius.
