Hong Kong's swimming star Ian Ho brought the city another gold in the men's 50-metre freestyle.

After Siobhan Haughey won Hong Kong two golds in swimming, it was Ian Ho's turn to go for a third, this time, at the men's 50-metre freestyle.

Ho finished second at the semi-final.

Starting from lane five, he was flanked by Liaoning's Chen Hao and Zhejiang's He Junyi.

The 28-year-old made his National Games debut.

He eventually clocked 21.71 seconds to clinch gold, beating Chen Hao by a margin of 0.46 seconds.

He also broke the Hong Kong record by 0.11 seconds.

Ho said, "This was as close to as good a race as I could have made. I think, a lot of times I struggle with the dive and the underwaters and so I just put a lot of effort this entire training cycle to make sure that I can be as close to consistent as possible every time."
