Hong Kong's economy grew 3.8 percent year-on-year in the third quarter, which is 0.7 percentage points higher than that of the previous quarter.

Total goods exports increased by 12 percent, with the growth mostly driven by high demand for electronics.

Domestically, private consumption expenditure rose further by 2.1 percent, reflecting the continued recovery of the local consumption market.

But the unemployment rate rose from 3.5 to 3.9 percent during the same quarter.

The govenment updated its economic forecast for this year from a growth of between 2 and 3 percent to 3.2 percent, but stressed uncertainties remain.
