A touch of winter is on its way.

The Hong Kong Observatory forecasts a significant temperature drop next week with the mercury expected to fall to just 16 degrees Celsius next Wednesday.

A dry northeast monsoon is currently sweeping across the Guangdong coast, bringing fine weather to southern China over the next few days.

Come early next week, a strong surge of the northeast monsoon is set to reach the region.

By Tuesday, the minimum temperature may dip to around 17 degrees, before sliding further midweek.
