Xi told King Felipe that the world's second-largest economy seeks to work with Madrid to boost the global influence of both nations, as the heads of state met in Beijing for a signing ceremony at the Great Hall of the People to boost bilateral ties.
The King arrived in Chengdu yesterday to begin a four-day state visit at the invitation of Xi with this marking his first trip to China since ascending the throne in 2014, and also the first visit by a Spanish king in 18 years.
