The National Games are now in full swing in Hong Kong, as well as Guangdong and Macao.

Yeung Tak-keung, Head of the National Games Coordination Office in Hong Kong, said on TVB's Straight Talk programme that the eight sporting events hosted by Hong Kong were carefully chosen with fencing being the most popular.

YEUNG says: "Because, yeah, our fencing athletes, they have been doing very well in international competitions in recent years, including at the last two Olympic Games. So a lot of people want to watch the fencing competition. But at the same time, the other events in Hong Kong were, you know, carefully chosen. Why we chose these events is that, you know, all the sports actually our athletes are doing very well. They are training very hard, and they are very competitive. So we expect not only fencing, but also with other events, our athletes should perform very well."
