Shandong's Liu Zhicheng claims gold in National Games' men's individual road cycling

Shandong's Liu Zhicheng claimed gold in the Cross-boundary Road Cycling Men's Individual Race at the National Games. 

Taking off in Zhuhai, the 231.8-kilometre race involved more than a hundred participants from various provinces and regions.

Nine cyclists represented Hong Kong dressed in green.

The event is the first one in the history of the National Games to take place across Hong Kong, Macao and the rest of the GBA.

More than 55 kilometres were contained in the Hong Kong stretch of the race.

Taking first place was Shandong's Liu Zhicheng, who completed the race in five hours and 17 minutes, with the runner-up being Beijing's Xue Chaohua and third place being Yunnan's Hu Haijie. 

Hong Kong's top finisher, Franco Chu, was in 15th place.
