Authorities say China will suspend 24% extra levy on US for one year

China is to suspend its 24 percent additional tariff on US goods for one year, but retain a 10 percent levy, according to the State Council's tariff commission.
The commission also announced Beijing will lift some tariffs of up to 15 percent on agricultural goods. These follow last week's meeting between President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump.
The announcement came on the day when the US Supreme Court is to start a hearing on the Trump administration's tariffs.
Trump's press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the case is about the use of the emergency authorisation for tariffs for future presidents, and that Trump officials are confident that "the Supreme Court will do the right thing."
