HKU reclaims Asia's top spot in QS 2026 Asia University Rankings

Hong Kong has scored a standout performance in the 2026 QS Asia University Rankings, with the University of Hong Kong reclaiming the title of Asia's top university after 15 years.
The ranking assessed more than 1,500 institutions across the region.
HKU has surged past Peking University to be crowned the top institution in the region.
HKUST jumped five places to No. 6. CityU and CUHK tied at No. 7. PolyU climbed seven spots to No. 10.
Baptist University and Education University were ranked 53rd and 152nd while Lingnan University was placed 181st.
Shue Yan University, Hong Kong Metropolitan University and Hang Seng University also earned places on the list.
