Mourners at the Bangkok hospital where Queen Mother Sirikit died have queued since Sunday morning to sign condolence books and pray at her portrait.
An area in one of the hospital buildings was set up to receive the mourners.
Mourners said the Queen Mother devoted her life to the people and was deeply loved.
The Royal Household Bureau said that the Queen Mother had succumbed to a blood infection last Friday.
The Queen Mother's body will be taken from the hospital and a procession will lead her to the Grand Palace, where her royal remains will be enshrined.
