Suspects linked to a brazen raid at the Louvre have been arrested and taken into custody, authorities said, adding one of the men attempted to flee from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. Last weekend, the intruders entered and exited the museum in under four minutes. They escaped with eight pieces of France's crown jewels valued at over 80 million euros. Investigators from a special police unit in charge of armed robberies, serious burglaries and art thefts made the arrests Saturday night. Local media said two have been apprehended, but a Paris prosecutor didn't say how many suspects were arrested or if the jewels were recovered. She rued premature leak of information, noting the revelation can only hinder the investigators' work to recover the stolen jewels and apprehend all of the perpetrators. Further details will be unveiled after the suspects' custody period ends.
