Emirates cargo plane incident: air crew tested negative for alcohol and drugs

Police have confirmed that all crew members of the Emirates cargo plane involved in the October 20th crash tested negative for both alcohol and drugs. 

That follows blood and urine tests conducted by the government laboratory.

In its statement released around midnight, the Airport Authority confirms that the tail of the Emirates cargo plane was lifted from the sea around 10:41 p.m. on Friday.

It's now on a barge for the Air Accident Investigation Authority to examine, including retrieving the flight recorder — commonly known as the black box.

Earlier in the day, one engine and the landing gear were also recovered.

Two salvage vessels are still working off the North Runway. The operation is expected to continue for several days.
