Worldwide internet outage disrupts popular websites Snapchat

Amazon said its cloud computing services unit AWS (Amazon Web Services) was hit by an outage today disrupting popular websites and apps worldwide.

Sites and apps affected included Snapchat with cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase and AI firm Perplexity also reporting disruptions.

AWS said it had identified a root cause and was working to accelerate recovery.

AWS has a market share of 30 percent of the global cloud infrastructure market, according to an HG Insights report.
