HK braces for potential typhoon next week, Observatory says

The Observatory says the city may experience persistent winds and rain early to middle of next week.
The strong wind signal No.3 may be issued by then. This under the combined effect of a northeast monsoon and a tropical cyclone.
The tropical cyclone over the seas east of the Philippines will edge closer to the vicinity of Luzon and intensify gradually.
It is forecast to enter within 800 kilometres of Hong Kong on Sunday.
Local temperatures are expected to drop from 27 degrees on Sunday to 24 degrees the next day.
