Operational incident at Yangjiang Nuclear Power Station

The government was notified by the Guangdong Nuclear Emergency Office of an operational event at Yangjiang Nuclear Power Station.
According to the nuclear safety regulatory authority, the incident happened on Wednesday.
It said the power station was in startup phase after an overhaul.
The incident happened during a planned switching of steam generator water supply from the auxiliary feed water system to the main feed water flow control system.
The main electric feed water pump reportedly tripped, triggering another electric auxiliary feed water pump to start automatically.
The authority said the safety barriers remained intact and there was no release of radioactive substances.
