The government held a seminar at the government headquarters under the theme "Executive and Legislative branches team up to govern for Hong Kong's future."
In his keynote speech, Chief Executive John Lee said the past four years' experience has proven that the improved electoral system is suitable for Hong Kong's democratic electoral system.
The Chief Executive said: "the improved Legislative Council, as demonstrated over the past four years, aligns with the actual conditions of the Hong Kong SAR and is suitable for Hong Kong's democratic electoral system."
Lee said: "Council members' speeches were diverse, covering a wide range of topics, and comprehensive in content. They emphasized concepts, details, and implementation, focusing on practicality in executive and legislative work and working together to build a better Hong Kong."
Lee added: "The improved electoral system has completely reversed the long-standing hijacking and sabotage by anti-China and Hong Kong-disrupting forces of the Legislative Council and District Councils. There are no longer filibusters, no more deliberate insults against government officials, no more paralysis of the Legislative Council's operations, no more obstruction of the SAR government's administration, no more blatant collusion with foreign or external forces and their proxies, no more requests for foreign sanctions against SAR government officials or judicial personnel. No longer are Legislative Council members organizing or participating in acts and activities that seriously endanger national security, undermine the SAR government, the SAR's constitutional order, the rule of law, and social order."
