Hamas released all 20 remaining living hostages as part of a ceasefire pausing two years of war that pummelled the Gaza Strip, killing tens of thousands of Palestinians.
The releases came as President Donald Trump addressed the Knesset and urged Israel to work toward peace after the U.S.-brokered ceasefire and hostage deal.
Einav Zangauker, mother of released hostage Matan, runs to greet and hug him. My life, my life, you are my life, champion, hero, she says.
Scenes like this, of unbridled joy and relief all over this medical centre in Reim, Israel.
Hostage Eitan Mor hugs his crying father, as his mother recites prayers.
You are alive, his father says. Two arms and two legs. Draped in Israeli flags. Talking to other relatives on the phone.
Guy Gilboa-Dalal being greeted by his family. Hugging his sister. His mother saying, I am crazy about you, I love you so much.
After two years, the Israeli hostage saga is over.
The man considered the architect of the peace deal with Hamas, US President Donald Trump, is given a standing ovation by Israeli lawmakers at the Knesset.
"This is not only the end of a war, this is the end of the age of terror and death," said Trump. "And the beginning of the age of faith and hope, and of God. It is the start of a grand concord and lasting harmony for Israel and all the nations of what will soon be a truly magnificent region, I believe that so strongly. This is the historic dawn of a new Middle East."
Trump thanked Netanyahu, who was recently booed by Israelis at a rally when his name was mentioned by US envoy Steve Witkoff.
"Mr President today, we welcome you here to thank you," said Netanyahu. "For your pivotal leadership in putting forward a proposal that got the backing of almost the entire world, a proposal that brings all our hostages home. A proposal that ends the war by achieving all our objectives. A proposal that opens the door to a historic expansion of peace in our region and beyond our region."
