Mother suspected of murdering 7-month-old child before committing suicide

A mother and her baby were found deceased in their Shouson Hill Road residence on Hong Kong Island.
Preliminary investigations by authorities indicated the mother suffered from depression, and was suspected of murdering her child before taking her own life.
The incident took place in the Shouson Garden housing estate, where a man of foreign descent alerted the police at around 4 p.m. of his 34-year-old wife and 7-month-old daughter lying unconscious in their home.
The police arrived on site and found the mother hanging in the master bedroom, while the child was placed inside a plastic bin.
Both were confirmed dead on site.
A suicide note has also been found.
Authorities initially believe the pair both died from asphyxiation.
The police further noted the woman regularly took medication to treat her depression after giving birth.
