Applications for clinic licenses begin today

Starting today, the Department of Health begins accepting applications for licenses required for clinics to continue operations in the future.
This as the government estimates that some 70 percent of small-scale clinics are eligible to be exempted from acquiring a license.
Authorities earlier announced that each license will remain effective for five years, adding that licensed clinics must follow certain requirements, such as issuing reports for designated problems, as well as notifying health authorities six weeks prior to closure.
Application fees for the licenses range between 8,000 and 10,000 dollars.
This as small-scale clinics employing five or fewer doctors or dentists will be exempted from the licensing scheme.
