Some Filipinos are in temporary accommodation such as tents for their own safety for fear aftershocks after two powerful offshore earthquakes which killed seven.

Authorities expressed fears of weakened structures that could collapse.

Some medical treatments have been moved to hastily assembled shelters.

Two quakes, the first measured at 7.4 and a second of 6.8, created landslides and prompted the evacuation of the coast amid tsunami warnings.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. says potential damage is being assessed. Rescue teams and relief teams are prepared and will deployed when safe, he added.

The Philippines was already dealing with aftermath of another quake that killed 74 in late September.
