Tens of thousands of displaced Palestinians are believed to have returned to devastated towns in northern Gaza as the Israel-Hamas ceasefire holds.

The Hamas-run civil defence agency says heavy equipment and shelter supplies are in need to accommodate the people moving north.

The coastal road on Rashida Street connecting southern and northern parts of the Strip has been reopened.

As part of the agreement, Israel says its troops were pulling back from residential areas and is preparing to receive the remaining hostages on Monday.

Massive rallies erupted in Yemen's capital, Sanaa, on Friday, as the Houthi militant group voiced support for Palestinians after the Gaza ceasefire deal took effect.

Houthi says it will keep a close eye on Israel and the United States and vowed to take actions if attacks resume.
