Navy ships to join Malaysian forces for exercises

People's Liberation Army naval vessels, scheduled to participate in joint military exercises with Malaysia, set off from Sanya, Zhanjiang and Hong Kong on Wednesday.
Code-named "Peace and Friendship 2025", the drill will focus on humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, as well as maritime security.
Over 1,000 Chinese and Malaysian troops will participate in the event. Other ASEAN members have been invited to send observers.
This will be the sixth joint exercise in the "Peace and Friendship" series.
It aims to deepen cooperation between the military of China and Southeast Asian countries.
