Hungarian novelist and screenwriter Laszlo Krasznahorkai was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.
The Swedish Academy in Stockholm credited the laureate for "his compelling and visionary oeuvre that in the midst of apocalyptic terror, reaffirms the power of art."
