Latest silver bond issuance at $55 billion

The government is issuing 55 billion dollars of Silver Bond. All valid applications received have been allocated bonds up to a maximum of 17 units with each unit worth 10,000 dollars.
At the close of the subscription period, more than 371,000 valid applications were received for a total of over 98 billion dollars principal amount of bonds. Both numbers are record highs.
Financial Secretary Paul Chan says the figures demonstrate that Silver Bond continues to be widely welcomed by the public and offers a safe and low-risk investment option for senior citizens.
