Number of companies registered in HK reaches record 1.47 million

As of the end of March, the number of company registrations in Hong Kong exceeded 1.47 million, reaching a new high.
According to the annual report of the Company Registry, there were more than 154,000 newly incorporated local and non-local companies, an increase of 29 percent year-on-year. The Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau says that demonstrates the attractiveness of Hong Kong's business environment.
In addition, about 77,000 companies were deregistered. 986 companies were wound up, and more than 37,000 companies were removed from the Company Register.
