Air controller shortages have led to more delays at major airports in the United States as the federal government shutdown stretched into a seventh day. 

Officials said there has been an uptick in controllers calling out sick at multiple locations, with President Donald Trump suggesting furloughed government workers may not receive backpay. NBC reports.
