The mainland's Golden Week holiday concludes today.
More than 1.29 million mainland tourists visited Hong Kong over the past seven days -- a 6 percent year-on-year increase.
The Immigration Department says over 200,000 mainlanders arrived in the city each day for the first four days of the holiday.
The city's Travel Industry Council said about 60 percent of visitors had stayed overnight, which has helped boost the economy.
Meanwhile, the Food and Beverage sector said roughly 80 percent of mainlanders chose to dine in fast food restaurants or cha chaan teng, bringing operators an estimated extra 15 to 20 percent profit.
