Matmo heading away from Hong Kong

The No. 1 signal is still in force, but tropical cyclone Matmo is heading away from Hong Kong.
The storm has made landfall over Leizhou Peninsula.
The winds were still strong over parts of the territory in the early afternoon, and there will still be a few squally showers and thunderstorms today.
Seas will be rough with swells and the public are advised to stay away from the shoreline.
