American forces struck a boat off the coast of Venezuela which the U.S. said was trafficking drugs.
Four people were killed.
U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth posted in his social media page, saying that the strike on Friday was conducted in international waters off the coast of Venezuela, while the vessel was transporting "substantial amounts of narcotics" -- "headed to America to poison our people."
U.S. earlier sank three vessels said to be trafficking drugs in the Caribbean sea near Venezuela.
The incidents have further worsened U.S.-Venezuelan relations.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro says Washington has tried to topple his regime with military forces while combating Latin American drug cartels.
