Industrial accident at Tai Po construction site leaves a female worker dead

A fatal industrial accident at a construction site near Cheung Shue Tan in Tai Po this afternoon. A female worker died after being trapped in a crane.
The incident occurred at around 3:30 p.m. Paramedics arrived at the scene and extricated the 62-year-old female worker from the crane.
She was later sent to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital, where she was confirmed dead.
The Association for the Rights of Industrial Accident Victims says it is understood that the worker was hit by a crane and then caught between the crane and the railing.
The Labour Department has sent officers to the scene to investigate.
