The FBI has fired roughly 20 agents who were photographed kneeling during George Floyd protests in Washington in 2020 that followed the death of the black man in Minneapolis police custody.
Floyd's killing sparked protests across America five years ago under the banner "Black Lives Matter."
The photographs show agents taking the knee during a racial injustice demonstration which was described as a "lack of judgment" by the bureau.
The FBI Agents Association confirmed the sackings of more than a dozen, calling it unlawful and saying the terminations were another example of FBI Director Kash Patel's disregard for the legal rights of employees.
