The world's highest bridge, China's Huajiang Canyon Bridge in Guizhou, has officially begun operations.
Located on the Huajiang Grand Canyon, touted as "the Earth's crack," construction work began in 2022.
Soaring 625 metres above Beipan River below, the 2,890-metre-long bridge is the highest in the world. Not just that. It also marks the world's longest-span steel truss girder suspension bridge in mountainous terrain.
With the opening of the bridge, the driving time between Guanling County and Zhenfeng County in Guizhou is slashed from 2 hours to just 2 minutes.
