First batch of hydrogen fuel cell street washing vehicles

Hydrogen fuel cell street washing vehicles earlier trialled on the streets of Hong Kong have officially commenced service.
The fleet may look similar to regular washers but they are powered by hydrogen energy instead of diesel. They will not emit exhaust fumes but only water vapour when generating electricity.
Compared with purely electric vehicles, these washers have fewer batteries which are smaller in size and take only about 15 minutes to recharge each time.
The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department rolled out the first batch of three hydrogen street washing vehicles and the Au Tau Public Hydrogen Refuelling Station in Yuen Long, which have been in service since mid-June.
