Police arrested a 17-year-old boy in connection with seven phone fraud cases, involving 1.1 million dollars.
A teenager was arrested on Friday after police looked into a number of scams that unfolded this month.
The seven cases involved six male and one female victims. All are retired elderly aged between 68 and 86. The most serious case incurred a loss of 520 thousand dollars.
The arrested teenager was said to have followed online instructions from strangers to collect money from the scams. He received 500 dollars for each completed job. Police are tracking down other members of the syndicate.
