U.S. President Donald Trump has imposed high tariffs on Chinese goods to strengthen his hand in negotiations.

China has responded with tariffs on certain U.S. agricultural products.

When the Chinese buy soybeans, it is now cheaper to go to other countries instead of purchasing U.S. grown soybeans.

China had been by far the largest foreign buyer.

Last year, the U.S. exported nearly 24.5 billion U.S. dollars worth of soybeans and China accounted for more than half the amount.

With China buying practically zero soybeans from the U.S. right now, some American farmers are very worried, but say they don't want aid payment from Washington, which they see as only a temporary solution.

They say they want to see the trade issues resolved as soon as possible so that they can properly sell their crops.
