Premier of the State Council Li Qiang spoke at the United Nations General Assembly to shore up commitment to maintaining economic growth and supporting global development.

Li has casted China as a responsible participant in tackling global challenges and a staunch defender of world peace and security.

Over 150 heads of state and government gathered for the high-level General Debate of the 80th session of the U.N. General Assembly taking place in New York.

This includes its creation of the world's largest renewable energy system and the recently announced 2035 climate goals.

He called for stronger collective efforts to tackle climate change and emerging technologies.

Meanwhile, the premier declared China would continue to pursue high-quality Belt and Road cooperation while opening up its economy.
