Colombia's President Gustavo Petro called for a criminal investigation into U.S. President Donald Trump and other officials involved in this month's strikes on boats in the Caribbean.
Petro criticised the three attacks in his speech at the U.N. General Assembly meeting, during which he also accused Trump of criminalising poverty and migration.
He said if the boats were carrying drugs, their passengers "were not drug traffickers; they were simply poor young people from Latin America who had no other option."
The Trump administration has justified the military action as a necessary escalation to stem the flow of drugs into the U.S.
