Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said he had "constructive" talks with Chinese Premier Li Qiang on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly in New York.
The Canadian leader said they discussed tariffs on steel, agriculture, and agri-food products, such as canola, as well as seafood and electric vehicles.
He added that the discussions will deepen, and he expects to be meeting with President Xi Jinping at the appropriate time.
Carney also confirmed that Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand will visit China shortly.
