Ragasa moves away from Hong Kong after T10 in force for some 10 hours

The Hong Kong Observatory issued the No. 8 Southeast Gale or Storm Signal at 1:20 p.m, replacing the Hurricane Signal No. 10 which had been in force for some 10 hours.
While Severe Typhoon Ragasa is moving away from Hong Kong, the observatory is going to further downgrade the storm warning to the Strong Wind Signal No. 3 at 8:20 p.m.
Dubbed "the strongest tropical storm on earth" this year, at 6 p.m., Ragasa was about 250 kilometres west-southwest of Hong Kong.
It is moving westward at 22 kilometres per hour away from the city.
The forecaster says the city's weather will be persistently adverse today wtih frequent heavy downpours and thunderstorms.
