At least 3 people fall into the sea while watching waves in Chai Wan

At least three people fell into the sea in Chai Wan.

Two of them, including a child, have lost consciousness.

Reportedly, a mother and a son of a family of four were swept by swells into the sea whie watching the waves. The father jumped into the water in to save them.

At about 3 p.m., some members of the public used ropes to try rescue them from the shore.

A speedboat later reached the site and rescued the trio in the waters off Chai Wan. The 38-year-old mother -- had passed out. The other person held on to the front of the vessel but struggled to board the boat.

Firefighters also rushed to the scene and performed CPR on the child and the woman.

The 5-year-old child was brought ashore.

The man in the water near the boat could be seen putting on a life jacket and boarding the speedboat.

The man's daughter stayed on the shore.

The unconscious child was later taken away. 

All three were taken to Eastern Hospital for treatment.
